Bachelor of Mathematics & Computer Science

When I graduated from high school, I decided to apply to University of Science, which is an excellent institution for education and scientific research in the field of basic sciences and applied technologies in Vietnam. My campus life was every exciting including both academic and social. I spent hours in computer lab working with the instructor to install a virtual machine with OpenStack, I was in the executive board of Academic Organization of my faculty and designed the content for academic contest in 2013. I also made friends with lovely students who were very enthusiast and helpful.

Networking Special Topics Project, January – May 2016

  • Introduction to Cloud Computing & OpenStack
Project Scope: Provide an overview of: Cloud Concepts and Characteristics, Cloud Delivery Models, Cloud Deployment Models, Neutron, Glance, Horizon, Nova, Swift & many other modules from OpenStack and OpenStack Dashboard
  • Linux Installation using VirtualBox / OpenStack Environment Setup
Project Scope: (VirtualBox) Setup Linux in multiple virtual machines to emulate a server center environment. (Ubuntu) Perform basic operations (make a new directory, create a new file, edit an existing file, delete a file), create, delete and switch users, setup virtual networks.

Web Programming with PHP, March - May 2015

  • Building Plaincart website using PHP
Project Scope: Program a simple shopping website with PHP, including both customer user functions and admin control panel functions. A customer must be logged in to be able to order an item. If the customer does not have an account, he or she can create an account and login with that account. The customer can add, remove and edit items in/from his or her cart, and checkout using PayPal. An admin can see users list, can create, edit, and remove any user accounts to/from the database; create, edit, and remove items list; sort each items by their category.
Tools: Adobe Dreamweaver, WampServer (to run the website on localhost), MySQL, web browsers

Team Work Skills Project, August - November 2013

  • Finished product: a presentation about online over-the-top (OTT) software and their effects to our daily life
Project Scope: this was a group project of five students; each group needs to submit an estimation on the process in details at the beginning of the course. Each group had to decide their meeting up schedule (at least twice a week) and everyone in the group had to write individual report at the end of the week. At the end of the course, the instructor evaluated each group performance by the gap between estimation and real schedule, by the contribution of team members and by the quality of the presentation.
